Anyone up there?

Seems Seattle, Portland hitting 90 for the next couple of days, and it will be earliest 80 degrees in Vancouver on record.

Campbell River to hit 90 degrees on Sunday.

Yikes.

Well into the 80s here today.

We had 90 yesterday and it was a bit hot. Today it was about 60 and a bit cool. Never just right…

I love the warm weather, happy to see it in may. Hope it sticks around for a while, but I think it’s only a tease

A perfect Mother's day on the beach. 26C (79F) in (near) Powell River. PXL_20230514_210242977.jpg

75 F today in Port Hardy. Heading across Cape Caution tomorrow. If this Wx holds we plan to be in Ketchikan be next weekend.

We reached 90f at our place in ocean shores Sunday. I’m pretty sure it’s never seen 90 before. Most people thought 80 was near impossible.

Supposed to get ot 91 here in Port Orchard today. Need to get up the mast and install the new radar before it gets too hot!

Isn’t the August high supposed to be around 65 degrees?

2009 was the last time summer weather arrived up here this early. The probability is high for a transition to El Nino any time and increasing as the year goes on, potentially an exceptional and/or extended summer on the north coast. Potentially a bad one for drought and fire too.

it sure is. when it hits 70 in ocean shores the local people start melting. whenever the forecast for the interior is suggesting 80 degrees the line of traffic to the beach is non-stop. its the place to go to beat the heat. as the heat in the interior makes the air rise, it pulls the low temp air from over the ocean inland and we get that cold misty condition. it's amazing to see actually, and you see the temperature drop 20 degrees in about 1/8 of a mile.
i don't care for that too much, but we're usually out cruising during the summer and miss it. spring and fall at the coast are spectacular in my opinion.

Same phenomenon as San Francisco. 10 or 15 degree temp change sometimes just going across the Golden Gate Bridge.

Sounds like a great town.
