AP Pump install location

What's the best location for the AP pump?

1. Aft below hydraulic cylinders.
2. Aft above hydraulic cylinders.
3. Next to lower helm.
4. Next to upper helm.

All else being equal, I would attempt to reduce hydraulic hose length in favor of longer wire.
 
They can be noisy. Engine room.
 
Agree with both of these posts! Also depends on where your fluid reservoir is located, hopefully it also is located close to the ram and in the stern.
 
Mine is in the lazarette by the hydraulic cylinder. We never hear it since we are on the flybridge.

I believe fluid reservoirs are in the Helm pumps. fill up on the upper helm. is there another reservoir?

above or below the cylinders?
 
One day you will have to replace the fluid and bleed the lines, that could be your guide.
 
Wherever you put it, make sure that it is in a place where you can get to it, look at it and service it.
