HI All,
Getting ready to install in new Simrad AP44 high capacity system and I'm going to replace the old autopilot pump.
When I do this, I'm sure that I'll introduce some air into the lines of the hydraulic steering. Any advice on the best way to purge the air out of the system?
Thank you!

We have air over oil steering which means releasing the air pressure in the system, opening the valves in the oil reservoir, and turning the steering wheel 24 turns in one direction, then 24 turns in the other direction. Ditto if you have two steering stations. Close the reservoir valves, pump up the air, and you're done.
