I am looking for a way to monitor what and how my dog is doing when I leave him in his kennel on board my trawler. I would like to step out for a bite on shore or go to the market and leave him on board in his kennel. I would to check up on him with my I-phone.

Do you have a hotspot or other means of WiFi on your boat?

Your options are either a security cam that is Wi-Fi enabled, or another option is to purchase a game camera that you can get a subscription for monitoring that uses phone Networks for something like $60 a year subscription.

If you have internet connection in any way, check TP-Link Tapo cameras, lot of models, not expensive and really easy to install and use. They have a choice of wired models or battery powered to fit most of the needs.

I was looking for a back up camera and came across a back up camera and monitor for RVs
on Amazon. for $149, comes with a 7" monitor and is 12volt.
It's called a Furrion system and is wireless to the monitor. Has anyone used any of these?

With respect to monitoring with a camera over the web, there is an app called 'Alfred'. I've never used it my self, but you can take any used cellphone, doesn't need a sim, as long as it can use wifi, and you can use the cellphones camera to monitor an area. A guy at my yacht club uses it.

I have a Furrion camera and monitor on my travel trailer. I has worked flawlessly for going on 3 years.

I use Arlo cameras for remote monitoring.

They work great, are east to set up, and easy to use.
