I just bought a 1988 Cape Dory 28 Cruiser with a fly bridge. It’s a fixer with great bones. The Chrysler 318 engine is not running. The previous owner’s pals took a lot of parts off the engine in their effort to find and fix a problem, I cannot use the starter to see which direction the flywheel turns. How to tell what the engine rotation is so I can order the rebuilt 318 correctly. Any help on this is appreciated.

Can you get the serial number off the engine or serial number and model of transmission, if it is out of the water can you get a look at the prop?
