Waterford Harbor to Fort Edward Yacht Basin. Uneventful day, beautiful weather met lots of other boaters going in all directions. Had fun doing the locks.
Even have live acoustic music outside the boat.

Thanks Charlie looks perfect, especially when you are cruising in the clouds! Enjoy the trip!

I can't wait to follow your foot print. I have heard there are no anchorages on the Champlain canal so would Fort Edwards Yacht Basin be my first must stop? Ty

Follow foot print??
Follow your wake more appropriate?

Uncle Matt, Fort Edward is a great stop. Free with power and water, restrooms and showers. Waterford harbor is also a great stop after the Troy lock and is the the junction of the Erie and Champlain Canals. Also free and if you can get on the side with power it’s only $10 and $5 for the shower/bathroom key.

Charlie, Great to see your progress! A few miles since Liberty Landing eh? I look forward to tracking all of your progress on Luna C. Well done! Regards, Bruce

Thanks Bruce, had a great trip, even had to pull into our new slip with a pretty good wind to test out what we had learned about how our boat responds. We had a great trip. Averaged 8 hours of cruising a day. Our new fuel tanks will net us 4 days of cruising plus a margin in reserve. Pretty happy with everything, now to address the forward cabin leaks.

I had been wondering how your projects were going, hope all is well.

CharlieO, I am on my way tomorrow. Leaving Shady Harbor and doing my first locks. I think a good first stop will be Mechanicsville due to the mass amount of loopers leaving here tomorrow and heading for the Erie. Stop two should be Fort Edwards. I will take your advice after that. Thanks you are a great resource.

Yes sir, if you’re bypassing Waterford, Mechanicville looked like a nice stop. I was warned not to go too far upstream from the wall when leaving due to rocks.
Have a great trip!!

Usually Lock 7 can give you an idea of how many boats are at Fort Edward.
If it is crowded Fort Ann had a decent dock and Comstock also had a nice looking dock. Don’t recall the lock numbers on those.
