Hello everyone, I'm new to the trawler world and also new to the forum, so go easy!
I recently bought a 1983 Cheoy Lee 32 foot trawler, and while I had her out of the water doing a bottom job, noticed that the prop had some damage and I would like to replace it. I have removed the wheel, and I cannot find any size information stamped anywhere. The boat is fitted with a Perkins 6.3544M marine diesel engine and a 1 1/2 inch shaft. Does anyone know the correct size of wheel I should go back with?
Thanks for your help!

Welcome aboard. Take it to a prop shop that does prop scan. They can scan it and tell you what condition it is in. If it can be repaired it will be way cheaper than a new one.

Get it repaired. A good prop shop can work wonders.

The odds are the shop will know where to look but even it not they can figure out what you have, diameter and pitch.

If you still want to replace it before ordering a new one you need to check the existing prop for how it drives the boat. OFTEN the OEM are highly optimistic about the props and rate the speed and engine revs with VERY light loading and a very clean bottom. Usually for most of us it really takes very little time as we load all kinds of gear , food, fishing equipment, dinghy, out board , full fuel and water tanks ,10 guests and their stuff and then wonder why the engine has trouble performing.
After some time the original props specs are way off line for the boat as it is now.
