Not bad on the lower east coat of FL. No hurricanes, today's temp was in the mid 80s and sunny. Currently 74 and dark.

Don't think any one place will satisfy you.
Just got back to Ft Lauderdale from a trip to NJ to visit family. It causes indecision to live near family and friends and a "dream" of nirvahna.
After 35+ (would have to sit down and recalculate) moves since 1972, due to college, USCG and various other reasons..... I realized my cruising lust was the reason that I could tolerate all those moves. And that is the real issue.
Since being a kid, the horizon always held appeal.
Without a job to relocate you every so often....just one place or clime may not really be the answer.
Florida is nice, but sure as heck not paradise as many would think.
Living on a boat without dirt ties gives options, but not answers.
Only time will tell......

South Florida is so Paradise. 
Ok, seriously, paradise is different for all of us. South Florida is my paradise. Alaska is to some. We're all different. For the first part of our lives, home is where our parents decided. For the middle part it's typically where our job led us. For the last part, we have a choice but if we have a bunch of family we might be swayed by that over ideal climate or other factors.
My middle part was NC and that was great and paradise to me for all those years. Still we didn't have family there, just a few friends, but mostly work acquaintances. So the move to Paradise, otherwise known as South Florida, was easy. We couldn't move now even if we found somewhere better because we have so many we're close to having built such an extended family here and we have businesses here. Fortunately we love it here, but regardless here for the duration. It's our home.
If we were country kids, grew up on the plains, lived all our lives on acres and acres of land, big cities far away, we probably wouldn't like it here. But we've both always lived in a metropolitan area, although in NC we lived on the outskirts of it.
One of the joys of cruising is seeing other places and we try to get a feel for each of them and what it is like for the locals who live there. Invariably, when we leave, it's easy to think "I see why they enjoy living there." Each place has it's own vibe but almost all have some level of community and friendship. There are really few places I don't think I could live and be happy and they're based on climate. Had I grown up in a frigid climate, perhaps. But at my current age, no way I could see spending 6 to 9 months of the year bundled up and primarily indoors. Yet people who live in those areas struggle even to visit Disneyworld for a week as they're not use to the heat.
Ultimately paradise isn't a place though. It's a lot of things combined and for us it's all of it, especially the extended and tight knit family we've built at home in South Florida. On our way home now and just knowing all we'll see over the next few days as we celebrate our Florida Christmas this coming weekend. Santa coming Saturday night/Sunday morning. Our Myrtle Beach family coming to FL with us. Aurora, our "niece", riding with hubby and me this morning but now that we're stopped for lunch going to switch to her mom's car with television in the back seat.
Wifey B: We sort of have three of those now. The kids at the orphanage in NC. Our family we adopted as our sister and parents in Myrtle Beach. Our family we've developed in South FL. Our birth families are long out of it and our childhood history we mostly prefer to forget. Then we worked so a few friends. Now this weekend coming up we'll have at least 40 close friends and their families and who knows what more through our home for our Florida Christmas.
We were loners. Then it was the two of us. Never understood really those with large families. Now we do and this is home for us. Hard to believe it's only been 5 1/2 years but we could never move now. A funny thing happened on the way to the forum.

Climate is important! I am working on our boat interior. Duette is in her slip a propane heater is keeping me warm while it is 20 degrees outside. My mind wonders back to last Winter cruising Florida and hanging in the Keys. I am glad we found the time to do it. One so inclined should go as early in life as they can. If we are blessed to repeat the trip in the future so much the better. If not we have great memories. John and Miri P

I realize this may sound odd coming from someone who doesn't like social media, but I'd look into some online dating sites. They allow you to say exactly what you're looking for and also share your personality, the good and bad.
Guess it became, "Been there, done that." lol
First 29 years, 363 days of my life, I would have never considered such an outlandish thought. Day number 29 years, 364, it all changed and I was quickly stripped of my inhibitions. Now, I live in the land of openness, both figuratively in my life, and literally in South Florida.
However, I think you still do need to consider others. When we went to the water park at Dollywood, all the girls bought special bathing suits simply because what is common and accepted at home wouldn't be perceived the same there.
There's a bumper sticker, "If you can read this, you're too close." When offshore on a boat I think the same thing. "If you can see anything, you're too close" so don't hold us accountable if you don't like what you see. There's a whole ocean out there. Same thing even at home. Our yard is visible only from the water. If you see nudity, then you're too close.
Much too much uproar in most of the country over nudity, especially topless females which is legal in 99.9% of the country. Many years ago some complaints about Fantasy Fest in Key West. It doesn't bother people who live there. Shouldn't bother anyone who goes there for it, as they should know what to expect. However, one of the organizations got upset and attacked them and the organizers decided to give in and ban nudity on the floats and cut down on the open smoking of marijuana. Horrible failure and hurt the businesses of Key West. Next year they announced, "Forget about last year, back to normal."
I've seen the show "Cops" a couple of times in New Orleans during Mardi Gras. Funniest exchanges to me were:
Cop: Where are you from?
Visitor: Pittsburgh
Cop: Would you do this in Pittsburgh?
Visitor: No
Cop: Then why do you do this in New Orleans?
I always wanted one of them to respond with "Why do you think we come here? To do things we can't do in Pittsburgh. Duh."

I guess my sterling personality comes through on the dating sites too. Not even nibble.
Maybe hire an editor.
Or just hang out at some retirement communities. While 98% of the women your age would say "no way" there are some adventurous ones out there.

Try SW FL Naples to Charlotte. Disproportionately high amount of single, divorced, and widowed women. Easy enough to search on match.com from Naples to Fort Myers.
