Always had a inflatable dingy with a hard bottom. I’m in the market for a new dingy and found some good prices of ones with an aluminum floor. Any pluses or minuses on this.

I have a 4-5 yr old 3 meter PVC dink with an aluminum floor that's been great with a 15HP motor. I bought it at Costco for about $500. Now they sell for about $600.

Got a spare I bought this year in the closet for when this one gives out.

Considered an airdeck floor? Makes the dinghy lighter, inflates hard as. When the last dinghy tubes died, the airdeck floor was still good. Cost difference, here at least, is modest.

dingy
dirty-looking; drab
Not to be confused with:
dinghy – a small boat

That's the amazing thing about hypalon dinghys. How long they last - UV and all. Catch the difference between these shots of one I bought in 1985, (pic taken about 1986 - yeah, was a sailor back then), then gave away in 2017 - still good to go, but dingy it surely was... :D
