Elysium - 2003 Camano Troll

I picked up my new-to-me 2003 Camano Troll (I previously posted about it, pre-purchase) in North Fort Myers, FL a few days ago and took her on a shakedown/delivery cruise to her new homeport in the Harborage Yacht Club in Stuart, FL. The trip was singlehanded, three days at a leisurely 7-8 knots, stopping in Labelle, Clewiston, and then on to Stuart. Five locks, three swing or lift bridges, two rivers, and one lake later, I'm home. Cruise went flawlessly, and the boat performed without issue.

She finally got her new name applied. Although it’s mostly hidden when carrying the dinghy on the platform. So I also put a graphic on cabin entry door.

I couldn’t say; they were on the boat when purchased and I don’t see any markings on them. I’m honestly not a fan and may remove them.

Having addressed some basic maintenance, I've moved on to upgrading some things not working or outdated.

The propane regulator was stuck and after my efforts to save it, started leaking out the second stage vent. The pressure gauge was falling apart, as was the mounting bracket. I tore the whole thing out.

And replaced it all:

The stove/oven lights nicely now.

The cabin lights used incandescent bulbs, and my attempts to put in LED bulbs failed (reversed polarity on the sockets compared to what the bulbs wanted, I presume, as there isnt anything else that could keep them from working I could think of). I wasnt a fan of the dated look in any event. I changed them all with 3-color capable, dimmable fixtures. All 9 of them.

Propane systems freak me out, so, good that you didn't try to save a few dollars by repairing it.

Yes, the wiring at the light fixtures is backwards. I had to remove mine and swap the wires when I went to LED's on our 2005 Camano.

Did some more work on the boat yesterday

The pinstriping is quite worn with uneven edges. I replaced the flybridge stripe, and will get to the others as well, but it was a bit windy yesterday and doing this work in those conditions was not ideal

The original Hella nav lights were incandescent and quite corroded inside, with one of them receiving mention as intermittent during survey.

I replaced them all with LED fixtures:

Above the cockpit there is a flybridge sole overhang that I wanted to add a stainless rail to for future attachments; rod holders or maybe a solar panel (shading might be a concern this low). I found a nice 36" one from great lakes skipper and mounted it with some G10 backing plates:

Elysium came with a nice Pronautic battery charger; I decided to add a remote so I can see charger activity from the helm rather than having to open the engine hatch:

Today’s little project:
The top of my helm was full of holes from various devices previous owner(s) had added or removed.

I got some foam mat and made a template from clear Mylar sheet and cut myself a dash pad:

I think it looks clean and will keep things from sliding around when placed up there now.

The included tv (small, maybe 18-20”?) was way too dim to be useable at any time except when it was dark.

I replaced it and the mount with a 24” Vizio with two arm RAM mount
