Exhaust hose questions

Couple of pics. Decided to replace the hose, very hard to access the engine room side. Ended up slicing the hose end to get it off the water-lift. Was not able to fish it out yet. It is very stiff and getting that 90* turn to straighten out wasn’t happening yesterday, it was about 20* yesterday so a bit chilly. Hopefully will pull a little easier when temps rise.

Transom thickness is 1/2” at waterline for anyone wondering.

The free flow arrows suggest that it’s a check valve?

Not a check valve, I think it's considered a free flow muffler as opposed to a chambered muffler.

Salisbury Brochure

For reference, here is a Salisbury brochure I had on file that shows their muffler products. I think the M-225 came prior to this brochure but you can see the concept they used with neoprene mufflers with neoprene bushings to adapt to different exhaust pipe sizes.

Thanks Skipper, That's what I have, I plan on reinstalling it I see no reason not to.

Here’s the removed hose. Might add a 90 degree fiberglass tube instead of trying to bend that turn from engine room to aft.

That old hose was near the end of life. Good thing you changed it.

So getting ready to place my order. Ordering through West Marine because my kid just got a job there and I'm eligible for the 40% discount.

I took out 14 feet of exhaust hose. 10 foot is the limit on ordering the 252 exhaust hose.

I plan to replace with a 10 foot hose into a fiberglass 90 degree elbow\sweep then a 4 footer from the elbow to the waterlift. I am going to reinstall the muffle guard at the transom end. Ordering 10 new PYI stainless hose clamps to double clamp each connection.

I feel like I haven't missed anything.

Does this seem like it would satisfy ABYC and or surveyor recommended standards?

I like to use T bolt clamps on exhaust hose instead of worm gear clamps. I like the AWAB T bolt clamps. They are all 316 S/S and have no welds to rust.
