Things shaking things.
Sometimes the best tool is one's hands. Feel whats shaking and at what engine speed. Then attach a 2by whatever or an steel angle. Wood is stiffer.
 
Probably the biggest thing we miss about the sailboat. There is really no substitute for just hearing the sound of the hull gliding through the water and the waves lapping against it.


Late reply but the water noise in our sailboat at 6 knots is louder than the pilothouse of our power boat going 7 knots.

BTW, the ER of our boat at 1500 is 20db louder than the pilothouse under way.

At a nice displacement speed of 1400 rpm and a bit over 8 knots you can hear the engines of corse, but there is no problem for example having a normal conversation, or watching TV in the salon.

From the pilothouse the noise level is signifcantly lower than that.

Now ramp the engines up and its a different story. :blush:

Well, isn't that like saying a beautiful melody is louder than a fart, so hearing the fart is preferable? :D
