fuel fill cap spare o-ring not fit

The friendliest place on the web for anyone who enjoys boating.
If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
A box of 400+ O Rings in a range of sizes, in a plastic storage box, from Ebay, is about $20 AUD delivered. Has to be value, on hand whenever needed.

What brand is the fitting? Buy the o ring from them.

When I dropped the o-ring from the top of my water filter I broke my pressure water system. Of course this was the day before I was departing with a weather window. I solved my problem with a glove and some Teflon tape. This was not a permanent resolution, however as a stop-gap it was good enough to get me to a town where I could buy more.

My solution is for water, not diesel however I might consider similar as your deck fitting isn't pressurized so you could (NOT should!) be able to get by until you find a replacement.

I am glad to learn about o-ring stores. I have a set of o-rings for my watermaker so now I have learned about an option to buy another set of the rings. That's cool. Thank you gents.

Here’s another option for weird sized o rings you might not have on hand, or for emergency repairs.
I keep this kit handy. It will get you by till a proper one can be sourced.
