Grease Bow Thruster Zincs?

Every year I have a tough time removing the old zincs on my Side Power bow and stern thrusters. Can anyone recommend a type of grease to mitigate the problem next year? I imagine a conductive grease would be the product to use rather than a Never-Seeze type product.

Thanks,

Rob

I never had any issues getting the anodes off the Sidepower thruster on our last boat. I guess that if I had to grease them I might use this lubricant.

Alco-Metalube Heavy Duty Lubricant, Standard Cartridge Tubes (2), 1.5 Lb. Ea.

If you've bought anodes in the last few years, they're not zinc any more, they're aluminum. They swell and corrode, making them a PIA to get out. What has worked for me is to drill a hole through the thick part of the anode before installing it. Then screw a #12 pan head stainless screw into. You don't want the screw sticking out the back side and you don't want the screw down tight. When you go to remove it, use a small hammer or cat's paw (carpenter tool) to pry it out.

Thanks Dave and Ted,

I will try both. Should have been clearer. They are aluminum anodes. So used to the generic term.
