Lewmar 700 Winch
This winch was originally a three speed winch, but I removed the fastest speed (least powerful) to simplify the mechanism.
Gear ratios 8:1 and 25:1
Power ratios with a 10" handle 25:1 and 77:1
I bought this as a spare -- we used its sister as a docking winch on Fintry -- see MVFINTRY dot com. It made pulling a 350,000 pound boat into the dock very easy.
Self-tailing easily from 1/2" line to 3/4" line, up to 1" line with a little care.
14" High, 11" diameter, drum 6.5" diameter. Weight 54 pounds
Anodized aluminum. Takes a standard 11/16" square winch handle. Locking winch handles work fine.
It goes fast if you turn the handle counterclockwise, and slower and stronger if you turn the handle clockwise.
Mounts with six 3/8" bolts on a 9.5" circle.
Recently serviced -- runs smoothly and easily.
A new winch of this size is well over $5,000. As noted above I'm selling it for $1,000. I warrant that I own the winch and have the right to sell it. I'll pack and ship it from West Newbury, MA to anywhere in the continental USA at my expense.
