David, We are at anchor now in Marco getting ready to pull it up and head on down to Little Shark River then Marathon tomorrow.
Say hello to our friends on 'Omega' if you see them.
Tony B if you leave Wheeler lock beware
When we came threw the lock we followed the red an green then headed about 270 degrees. Right around the 272 there was what appeared to be a large rock but had to be a log. I was just getting up on plane an caught it That was close. You can never take your eyes off the water. I shouldn't be texting and piloting
I can't say enough about using my iPad and Garmin's bluechart software for about $50. I spent thousands on my plotters an radar but when the green an red didn't show or things didn't look right I turn to my iPad. I bought it in 2012 and used it to come to Knoxville from Va around Florida. I've spent hundreds for more detailed charts but it's all in the bluechart app for $50.
David. I am really enjoying this adventure from my "armchair" up here in New England. Have relatives that just purchased a vacation home on Lake Picwick. This is all new territory for me and I am getting a great Geography lesson from you. Thank you for taking the time to post your route.
Easting thanks for joining in. Lake pickwic was very nice and big. I didn't have to worry about my wake. I'm not really in a hurry but I'm thinks n I'd like to get somewhere I can turn the furnace off.
Bay Springs is a nice stop, nice marina, nice family operation, a bit like Florence was. Next is Smithville. Columbus is a decent stop. Then it's Demopolis and Kingfisher (same company, side by side).
