Here is something I started on another local forum that worked really well.

A monthly photo competition.

The rules are pretty simple.

The photo must have been taken in the month of the competition. The photo must be on the topic of boating, directly or indirectly - but if too indirect it may not get votes.

Members can enter as many photos as they want.

At the end of the month the forum members get to vote on the photos.

The photo with the most votes wins bragging rights (but not much else!).

There will be a separate thread for each month.

This thread is for January. So if you have a great photo from this month, post it here!

Sounds like fun. I'm in (although I don't have a photo at this moment to share)

OK, we had a short cruise from Jacksonville to Palm Coast this week. We probably are not going to be out and about on the water for the rest of this month. So this is my offering for January.

These were taken this month during our visit to the Aransas National wildlife Refuge

Were were in Awe. At one point we could visibly see 1% of the worlds population of Whooping Cranes :)

I have hundreds!

This was my first trip to really tour the Texas Gulf Coast, and i have to say that I am very fond of the area!

The people were fantastic!, The scenery was spectacular! the local food was Delicious! I really like the hometown feel of the Rockport-Fulton-Lamar area.

I assumed he was entering all of them.

I'll make it clearer next month. One per post. Then if the member takes what he thinks is a better photo later he can post that one and that will be the entry for voting.

So if over the month he/she takes better photos and wants to replace he/she can. The last photo posted is the entry.

OK then the one of the Whooping Crane please :)

This is the only one I have at the moment.
My latest addition to the "fleet" a 9 ft "bass boat" I got for free to use on the small pond behind my house.
I named it "Patches" and that should obvious.

That definitely wasn't taken around here, where even in summer diving in takes your breath away!

About 10 miles off San Diego coast, in the Summer so temp about 70. It’s about 58 now, but drops off fairly quickly as you head up the coast.

What are your winter and summer water temps?

5 Celsius (40F) today. Not much warmer in the summer.

Quiet night in Sarasota

Quiet night in Sarasota. There was a rocket launch from Cape Canaveral about an hour later but I did not have my phone handy.

I took a couple out on Friday and had them married on the cockpit deck. We had a photographer in a skiff taking drone video. In the next day or so I should get the video and some still shots. Once I see them I will post a few on the site.
