Very good point.

I quit using white mounts, ties years ago. Only the black now.

At work I learned the difference. The indoor lighting was enough to ruin the white ones in a few years. THe blacks never flinched. And I buy only decent quality ties and mounts. The cheap ones, I have found, often do not even have a reliable locking setup for holding.

Securing wires

I have been cleaning up my wiring the same as you. When I have had to secure entire new areas I have not wanted to screw into fiberglass at all. I have been using a Liquid Nail product called Fuse-It with great success. I have not had single glues piece of wood fail. The nice thing is it is quick and easy.

Just finished this bilge pump wiring project and I know what you mean about drilling into fiberglass. I mounted the terminal strips to epoxied plywood strips expoxied to the fiberglass, but put in six screw type zip tie saddles in places where there were already screw mounts of other types.
