I would find a synthetic oriental rug. Wool rugs continues to shed / ball up no matter the age.

We like machine made Persian type rugs. They come in many styles and colors. You can get them in wool or synthetic. We prefer the wool as it’s very durable, cleans up well, and feels good on bare feet. Be sure to use a non skid pad.
