Hello all,
I purchased my first trawler about 6 months ago, a 1980 CHB 39. I have been busy removing the teak decks and fixing the water damage incurred by numerous leaks through the hundreds of holes used to secure the teak to the deck. The entire rear deck had to be removed due to rot, but she's coming together nicely. I have twin Volvo diesels(TMD40A's) and have learned that parts are a bit pricey, but the engines run well even though they only have 280 hours on them since new. I was concerned that 280 hours in 35 years would mean a bunch of maintenance issues, but so far they seem to be fine. I look forward to reading and learning from this forum.
Thanks,
Steve
