Did it then didn’t do it . . . Out in the Gulf (of Mexico) a few weeks ago to watch the Blue Angels home coming, us and no less then a thousand others, jet skies to 80+ foot sport fisher’s and yachts. After the show most were WOT back to the pass, needless to say at 8kts we didn’t lead the pack. Tossed around a bit but all was well, arrived on the sound side to anchor up for a swim when I noticed oil film on the starboard transom apparently from exhaust. Went into the engine room to find oil splattered towards the back of the Volvo TAMD 41A, checked hoses, oil level, etc all were fine. Call my mechanic (he called back and said I should be OK for the 1.5 hour trip back to the marina. No visible issues, no more oil in exhaust or in ER, check temps with lazer temp gun (still don’t know how those work) all temps from each area of both engines were at or near the same.
Back this past weekend, mechanic came down ran the engines nothing noticeable, took her out for an hour or two, picked up the mechanic, he went below as we ran her harder, still nothing . . . Anyone experienced anything like this?
