John, we're in Shearwater for a couple days and will be in Ketchikan in about a week, weather permitting. I'll be looking for you guys on AIS when we get to SE. Most of our time in July and August will be on the west side of Prince of Wales chasing fish although we may head up to Sitka too. Your pictures are great.

Well my spelling sucks tonight. So ship stores getting ready to be stowed. Crusty thinks I will need to stock up in Ketchikan.
Happy summer solstice everyone. We start losing daylight tomorrow.

I always get a bit sad at that. I enjoy the long days. Not as long as what you are experiencing now, but still long. Last night sunset was at 9:10 where I am. That means it is light enough to do things outside until 10pm.
Call me crazy - I look forward to wild winter weather, snow, and 16 hours nights which mean soft 'dusk' light all day. The extremes we experience on BC's north coast are responsible for the rich environment I love so much.
Up here the sunset is at 11:30, and sun rise is 4:15. Evening twilight ends at the same time morning twilight begins. In other words, it never gets dark.
Awesome day on the water. I did see an AIS hit that surprised me. Yep Morning Star fixing to enter Lynn Canal about 10 miles ahead of us!!
Lynn just for a short time until you get to the junction of Icey Straits and Chatham StraitsLynn Canal??? I know you used the ferry up and back, what the heck are you doing back in Lynn Canal.
Our of good grace and commonality for your neminis 'Morning Star" extending a invite to one of your 'Beer Times' with crab or better, a top sirloin steak on that new burner an outstanding example of seafaring commorady.
TT,
I have always said that sunset and sunrise are the same event on June 21 and Dec 21. Hope to see you sometime this summer before you head south.
Tom
Well Pairadice land a nice 53lb halibut today. He may share a pic or two. Nice and sunny and warm in Icey Straits today. Staying in Hoonah tonight.
Tom/John. If you have cause to speak to the Harbor Mistress, a member of the Mills family. Ask to Tom, her brother, health on my behalf. better yet, obtain a phone # or a address for Tom MIlls. My walking boss and one smart cookie. we have lost contact with each other and your being there is perhaps a blessing for reigniting the relationship. Let me add the other brother Jeff, he may be in Hoonah. Okay, one more, Archie Brown. if you would.
Regards,
Al
Well, now I know why the Monkey Shoulder is hard to come by -- Tom, you have Montana's allotted ration on your boat! .. Crusty, remember: "THE LIVER IS EVIL, AND MUST BE PUNISHED!!"Well my spelling sucks tonight. So ship stores getting ready to be stowed. Crusty thinks I will need to stock up in Ketchikan.
