My Perko intake strainer cover bolts are stripped. Has anyone had any success with grinding the head down on a stainless bolt? $30 a bolt is a ridiculous price.

why not run a die down to create new threads?

Thanks for the reply. I bought a stainless steel bolt grounded down the head, drilled a pin hole and it worked like a charm. $2 for the bolt and 20 mins of my time.

That bolt is a real problem with those Perko strainers. They usually just break at the point they are drilled. I sold a LOT of them. (Not for $30 a piece!) Don’t know why Perko doesn’t change them.
