These are about the best two. The top came from Hard to Top.

My son has been on top (he is 180lbs) assisting me, and the top does not flex or bow. The PO installed it, and I was hesitant to keep it on until the first summer with scorching heat- then decided it should stay.

I like your boat a lot.
The long sweeping swoopy sheer line seems an odd choice w the short, straight lines of the “house”. I think it works so well because the overall height of the boat is limited to low very seakindly lines. If the sheer was straight it would be too much. But the combination seems to work very well. She smacks a bit of the ledgendary Huckins boats from Florida. Where many wonderful boats come from.

Thanks, Eric. This was Viking's attempt to enter the cruising market as their project manager at the time explained to me. Produced maybe 200 aft cabin 43s and 44s in the late 70s - early 80s. The 44s followed the 43s and added some creature comforts and improvements as I understand it. Unsure if they actually added a foot or if it was a "marketing" change. There's a nice 44 here on TF - in the Toronto area as I recall. Mine came down here from the Great Lakes. I can't remember the fellow's name.

They basically took the 43 sportfisher, extended the saloon a bit and decked over the cockpit for a generous aft stateroom. As far as I know, that was Viking's only attempt to enter the cruising market. Rock solid boat.

Small world, Keith! I really like Gulfport - really nice town, great people, excellent marina, easy back and forth to the islands. I have a gaggle of young grandchildren - not ready for extended cruising, but they love the boat and the islands. Perfect compromise at GPT.

That's a really beautiful build. Did you build her or have her built? Do you have any interior pics? It was on my short list to build. I would have liked a full stand up head with shower behind the helm.

Tortuga, my 1936 Nunes Brothers Raised Deck Cruiser, hanging on my mooring yesterday. She is 32'8" long, planked with Douglas Fir over laminated oak frames, with an African Mahogany cabin house. The power comes from a Volvo-Penta D2-40 diesel.
