As usual, my simple job of rebuilding my Wagner 701 pump hit a snag. I've rebuilt a few series 700's but no 701.
My problem is I don't know how to remove the ring that holds the 2 halves of the pump together. It has 2 holes, 1 on each side, that appear to be where a set screw should be but it's just an indentation. At first I thought about drilling them out but decided that is foolish.
I know several sailors here have rebuilt a 701 and would very much appreciate you sharing the secret of removing the outside ring.
