Prop snuffbox

Hi all. I've just joined the site . I'm from England and in need of a bit of advice. I have a yanmar 3gm engine and gearbox fited to it is this prop.
Is this just a grease none drip or do I still need to pack it. This is the first year owning a boat its a colvic 19ft fisher

That looks like a standard packing gland off to the left in your picture. Hopefully you can lift one more floorboard for better access?
It should take whatever flavor of packing you choose.

Congratulations on your first boat. It is a standard packing gland, aka "stuffing box". Google "repacking a stuffing box" and you'll get a lot of hits on how to do it.
Or better yet, do a search on the forum for it and there must be some past threads on doing the procedure.

With that jerk fitting, I'd say that is not a standard packing-filled shaft seal. I had a Grand Banks with twin shafts originally fitted with greased packings.. They were longitudinally split with two through bolts on either side of its fore and aft ends. With a grease fitting in the middle and o-rings at either end, the grease sealed it pretty well, but I needed to give each one a single pump of grease from a small grease gun I kept in the engine room. I eventually got tired of the mess and the requirement to keep it greased and replaced it with a dripless packing.

Rich may be right in his assessment. Blowing up the photo is does look to have a zerk grease fitting. I thought it was a rusted hose clamp nut.
I'm not familiar with this type of packing; best bet would be asking around your local boatyard to see if anyone is familiar with it and can give you advice.
A good reference for a first time boat owner is Nigel Calders' "Mechanical & Electrical Handbook". It's a great reference for boaters and covers about everything you'll encounter.
