Started another project today. Our windlass slips when paying out chain. When it does this you have to bump the chain up for a second and then it will let chain out. It has been getting progressively worse over the last few years.
I had to pull the bow pulpit to get access.
I am having trouble separating the lower gear and motor assembly from the upper unit and shaft.
The gear/motor unit should just slide off the shaft. I am soaking things with Kriol penetrants overnight. Tomorrow I will try a puller and bigger hammers.
Any advice or experience with this job would be appreciated.View attachment 141662View attachment 141663View attachment 141664View attachment 141665
