The Sun Dog 221835 (best I can tell, and sorry for the poor photos) latch securing the lazarette hatch in our cockpit has been leaking. I built a step to both cover the rudder and hydraulic steering ram and ease access in and out of the lazarette, and the latch leaked black water onto my step's nice white paint the first time I hosed out the cockpit.
Can the seal on that type of latch be repacked or replaced? Other than add it to a projects list, I haven't taken the latch apart to investigate. We don't get to the boat much this time of year. Is this a repair or replace item?
