So we have a Village Marine Squirt 600 of indeterminant age or when last used. Probably a decade or more is my guestimate. It powers up, but before I start re-plumbing filters to really run it any general advice (not watermaker vs. no watermaker please) about reviving this thing generally or specific to the model.

Village Marine (Parker) said should be no big deal with a few procedures.

Heard that on before...

Thanks in advance.

I know of many units that were fresh water flushed and then not used for up to two years later. These units were turned on and went right back to making water. Problem is I don’t believe anyone really knows how long the membranes can remain dormant and then come back to life. The safest bet is to replace the membranes, everything else should be unaffected by being dormant. The easiest thing is to turn it on see if it works.
