Here are a couple shots of my retirement cockpit. If you're wondering, the autopilot is off... the slippered foot is a dead give away.

I have some old gear like my 1983 Furuno Fishfinder that's great at finding sturgeon but only displays two colors...orange on black. It just keeeeps working so I keep it. Besides, I've got other better things for the boat to spend my money on!

The leather wheel wrap was a retirement gift from my coworkers in the FAA. The autopilot is a belt wrapped around a motor and a pulley on the wheel intended for a sailboat but works great on my slow trawler. Rudimentary but functional...or as I like to say, Comfortably Imperfect.

The charging/power station is a combination of a 3-bottle wine box from Napa and a gift from Daintless/Wxx3 before he left for Alaska. It's 12V powered but has a peanut inverter to provide limited AC power. The top fits a laptop, keeping it elevated from spillage.
Back vents and a sliding top provide passive ventilation.

There's a nice compass buried in there somewhere that Codger2 donated to my boating cause years ago.

Builder built the helm's display to my specific instruction and are undoubtedly unique. Readouts primarily of the driver's interest such as fuel consumption rate, rudder angle, depth-finder, auto-pilot, engine speed, are to starboard, while instruments also of interest to the lookout are radar/GPS, horn controls, and search light controls are to the left.

Not very good pictures but all I can find at the moment. Radar is just out of sight in the center of the bridge as the first mate is on radar watch. (when it is on). Autopilot is just to the starboard side of the wheel. Simple setup.
This is the captain at his favorite position when underway. May as well relax when you can.
Oh I must be travelling down river.

Our humble Badger, sporting the finest in early 1980's technology. This is in its marina state...quite a bit messier while cruising.

We had very little room on last boat so it's nice to not have so much clutter but everything is at your fingertips. VHF is at my side behind helm chair. No beer on the bridge although

My helm as of earlier this summer. Since this picture, the VHF has been swapped for a newer model and a second one added where the empty silver bracket on the starboard side of the helm is. The switches are also silver now, as I replaced the 33 year old ones due to all of the connections being corroded and in need of re-terminating anyway. Wipers have been replaced with better ones too.

It's a little embarrassing showing our rinky-dink Mainship after the previous posts of the above beautiful helms, but I know one thing to be true and that is I'm pretty sure we have as much fun being on the water as everyone else!

First pic- lower helm with VHF, I-pad under the towel repeating fishfinder,chartplotter & radar from the flybridge Garmin plus a backup digital depth, autopilot control and all of the DC breakers, panels etc. AC breakers plus inverter & battery charger panels/controls to the right down lower. Stereo under the bar on the left.

Second pic flybridge helm -Garmin combo plotter fishfinder radar, 2 VHF's,autopilot control & stereo. AIS is of course hidden behind the helm. Don't ask me what the heck Liz is doing in the floor...maybe she had too many of those yellow bird cocktails you see in the drink holders!

The helm seat is only used for longer passages, and is removable to give more elbow room at the table.

Simple! In both salon and fly bridge. I pilot on the bridge 99.9% of the time. Funny that I have not one photo of that station.
