It finally happened... Pulled the wrong lever and bent my dinghy lifting boom. The entire setup is very difficult to manage (especially with one person...) Anybody know how/where I can find a replacement boom or something similar?

check with sparcraft first, then beneteau spare parts website second, finally a rigging company

i find it manageable in little-to-no wind, but difficult single handed in wind.

Sorry to see this. I am sure you can replace the boom thru Bennetaue spare parts. However you have to go through your Bennetaue dealer.

That is incorrect. You need not go through a Beneteau dealer. You can acquire any part directly from Beneteau and you even get a discount, 15% off, if I remember correctly.

But if Sparcraft made it and can get you one, you may be better off going through the company that made it for Beneteau. Sparcraft made several of the boom and mast parts on the ST44, just not sure if the boom is included.

Benetaue spare parts recently changed their policy. You now need to register through an authorized dealer to get access to the spare parts site. And then place your order through the dealer. You can no longer log on with your user name and password. You are now required to register with your dealer.

Wow, my apologies! Talk about a step backward. I recently used the site without issue but you are right I can no longer login. Shame on Beneteau for not sending communication on this (I checked my email and received nothing) and just taking away existing access!

Beneteau did struggle and had a lot of data/system loss when they were hacked during the pandemic, on top of supply chain, and other issues such as staff departures. They did get the spare parts system back online so very strange for them to do this. I've found many dealers to be horrible, so its a huge deal in my opinion.

If you don't mind me asking, how did you find out about it?

I tried logging on numerous times. I called the spare parts phone number and the rep informed me of the new procedure to obtain needed parts.

I contacted someone in corporate and asked why. "Tax reasons" Makes zero sense, sorry. There must be other motive. Its very easy to collect sales tax and remit it to the states.
