Need to correct the above. Could see rod failure if bushings fall out completely. Didn’t think of it as that fitting is either serviced or replaced when play increases sufficiently. Have had cable jump in heavy weather. Truly a catastrophe as steering is frozen until fixed. My least liked system of all.
