The mount allows it to rotate within it.
Not saying you are an idiot, but just how are you able to determine the filter is flipped around from a picture? Braille? A Spock mind meld? LOL
It makes sense in one aspect that if it actually is a racor and it's flipped, then the pump is pulling the fuel from the racors exit port because the exit port would flip to that side. easy to see.
However if its one of them chinese knock offs that look exactly like the racors and their in-out ports are the same as a griffin (a british knock off) then it just might not be flipped around at all.
And there's no way anyone can say for certain from the pic. Heres a chinese knock off from ebay. looks exactly like a racor but no label.
It doesnt really matter.
