    • Do not hijack another member's ad by posting unsolicited commentary. Example: if a member has posted an ad offering an anchor for sale, don't add a post to his thread stating that you have an anchor you'd like to get rid of also. Posts deemed as unsolicited commentary may be removed.
    • For your own security, do NOT include your e-mail or phone number in your ad. Instead request that interested parties contact you via PM (private message) to provide owners contact info.
    • Brokers, Dealers, or those with a commercial interest in a sale are prohibited from posting in Classifieds.

    • Place only one ad per item (you may repost only when your ad has expired and been removed).
    For Sale ads MUST include:
    • Asking price
    • Location
    • A Basic Description
    • Clear statement whether you are the owner or non-owner (posting for friend, relative, or acquaintance)
    • Don't forget to select: FOR SALE, WANTED or FREE in the Title block.
All ads should also include ALL the following:
    • Pertinent maintenance and condition information
    • Exterior picture or pictures
    • Interior picture or pictures (boats)
For maximum impact & exposure, it is suggested the Ad Title include: Year, Manufacturer, Model, Length, Price, and Location or at the very top of the ad body. When your item has sold or the ad is no longer relevant: Please post a Reply to the ad that the item is SOLD or click "Report Post" on post 1 of the thread to ask a moderator to archive the ad. Beware of unsolicited contacts offering to put you in touch with someone else who is buying or selling via e-mail or text.

Do not post your e-mail address or phone number in a classifieds ad.

Hints that you may be dealing with a Scammer:
    • Seller or Buyer approaches you via a direct email or PM and then steers you to an off-site communication method (text or email).
    • No posts or very few forum posts.
    • Recent forum membership
    • Insists on conducting negotiations via email or text rather than PM
    • Requires payment via Bank Transfer, BitCoin/CryptoCurrency, WesternUnion or other unsecured method.
    • Buyer or Seller suggests Paypal "Friends and Family" payment. Paypal is a good way to arrange payment but an invoice for goods and services should be used rather than "Friends and Family". "Friends and Family" avoids fees BUT there is no recourse if the transaction runs aground. Friends and Family is for gifts only. There is no protection for Friends and Family transactions, so never ever use it to buy something.

Hi Guys,
Boaty greetings from across the Pond to all fellow boaters. I came across two Transpac Eagle 32 for sale in the UK. Both 1991 with Sabre Lehman 135L. The price is good, the boats look great. The only problem is I can find hardly any information here about them. Can you help, please? Anybody here who has / had it? Any opinions regarding the boat and the engine will be much appreciated.
Thanks!:)

ZBig, spend the day doing an internet search.......

Why such a patronising reply? Perhaps, if you have nothing interesting to say, you might try saying nothing?

Merely a suggestion if you had not done the research. You may find the builder's documentation.
I did search and discovered lots and lots of information.
But with your response, I regret recommending it.
Sorry to have bothered you.
(mumble mumble)

Sorry, I didn't mean to be rude. I started with internet search, more than one day in fact and the information is scarce which is frustrating. During my research I came across this forum, registered and posted...

Don't worry about OldDan too much, because, well, he's old and a bit of a curmudgeon :D

I don't know about Transpac Eagles at all other than absolutely loving the lines of the Transpac Eagle 40.

I did an advanced search (red bar, top right) and looked for "Transpac" in thread titles...this is what came up:

Welcome aboard :thumb:

Yea, I am old and will die soon.

Murray I wanted zbig to experience "words" so maybe he will be more selective in the future.
What zbig said no doubt does not equate what he might have been thinking LOL

Found this while looking for Eagle 40 in fo:

Almost five decades of experience in building sail and power yachts in Asia is limited to very few companies, and TRANSPACIFIC MARINE CO. LTD. is one of these few companies. Forty seven years ago, Nancy and Ennals Ives, Transpac's founders, began living in Taiwan, while building 38' and 40', wooden sailboats.

Sailing their own boats in California, prior to living in Taiwan, prepared Nancy and Ennals, to understand the necessity of high quality and strong, safe methods of construction needed in ocean going yachts. Their experience in sail and powerboat cruising and construction, and knowing how yachts will perform in various weather conditions, has contributed to the success of Transpac yachts.

Early in the life of Transpac, the Ives recognized the necessity to involve a local partner. Consequently the current President, prominent Taiwan business woman, Mary Chou, joined the company. After Ennals' passing in 2006, Nancy has retired a year after that, she is still involved as a consultant.

In the 1990s, Transpac moved its building operation to the Eastern China city, of Ningbo, where they continue production of the Eagle Motoryachts.

Parts and equipment for Eagles are purchased in the U.S., Taiwan and in China. U.S. Coast Guard Standards are followed in fitting out the yacht, including the engine wiring and fuel systems. All systems are thoroughly tested at sea before shipment.

Yes. I like the history of the company and the fact that it's been a small, family run business. Difficult to trace though... The two boats for sale in the UK seem to be in good order but I haven't seen them yet due to the travel restrictions.

I Fell in love with the boat except the V-Berth was too small for us and priced too high. Didn't buy. Good luck.

Eagle 32

Anybody here who has / had it? Any opinions regarding the boat and the engine will be much appreciated.
Thanks!:)

We have an Eagle 32, a 1987, but with a FordLehman 90. Lovely boat, but small--it's actually my wife's boat that we use on the Great Lakes.

Like you, we haven't found much information on the boat, background, builder, etc. She's well made and been well cared for.

Hope you do well at collecting info.

Many thanks for you reply. It is great to know that people who use Eagle 32 are happy owners. I hope to join the club soon!

We have one (1986) and love it! It was pretty neglected with a lot of water damage so we've done a ton of work to it. I've posted some photos, not necessarily in order. Hopefully this link will work: https://www.trawlerforum.com/forums/members/17953-albums676.html.

Here's the Taiwanese Makes forum: https://www.trawlerforum.com/forums/s10/

Let me know any questions you have.

Kate

Thanks for your reply! You have done a massive job on your boat! Fantastic. Thanks for sharing the pictures. Some people complain on engine noise. Is it a problem in your opinion?

Smaller version of my Trans Pac 40

Trans Pacs were built in Taiwan and are very high quality boats. I believe the 32 is just a smaller version of my 40. As with any boat, a careful survey is necessary to identify issues caused by the previous owner, but the original build quality is excellent. For their size, I believe it should handle seas as good or better than others in the same range. A beam sea is not a trawlers friend without stabilization, but my 40 handles nasty chop much better than I would have imagined. Head sea, following sea and even quartering seas are absolutely no problem. I love the layout and everything about my 40, with the minor issue of the forward berth being a little noisy when trying to sleep in any kind of chop. I have a Perkins in mine, so I can't speak to the engine, but I believe you are still able to get parts for the Sabre (at least in the US, I cant speak to the UK).

Thanks for your reply. I looked at the 40 and indeed it is a "bigger brother" of 32. The layout is the same. Engine parts is not a problem in the UK. I am just waiting for the travel ban to be lifted...

We have a Lehman 90 and yes, I would agree engine noise is an issue in the salon. We continue to work on insulating with Soundown, etc.

Thanks! That's what I have heard. The two available in the UK are 130 Sabre, six cylinder units. Apparently quieter...

Eagle 32

I am a retired Naval Architect and Marine Surveyor now resident in the Uk
I owned an Eagle 32 for a short time with a Ford Leman 90 installed. A great boat, well built and sea kindly. However for two people we found it somewhat cramped.
I changed to a 32 Island Gypsy which is equally good looking and has twin 90 Lemans. Mine has an unusual aft cabin and two heads and is much roomier.
As well as the IG I now have 40ft Marine Trader Europa which I imported from Florida.
I also owned after the IG a Corvette 32 and if you haven't viewed one yet I strongly suggest you do as these boats are quite beamy and have very wide walk around decks. Well built and now paper of the Flemming boat group.
My IG is currently on the market!!
Good hunting and if I can be of any help do get in touch.

Thank you for your post! I have looked at Corvettes but either they are out of my price range or if they are in my price range they look more like "project boat" in rather tatty state.
Is your IG32 Tahoma? Nice! I might come back to you, should the Eagles were not as good as expected.

Still in the long process of searching for the terminal trawler. Have looked at a number of boats so far, but it seems like the Eagle 32 would be a good solution for a mostly single handed sailor like me. It checks off most of the boxes on the list of things I would like to have. The only problem is that I have never actually seen one in the wild. I was wondering if any forum members in the Lake Ontario area might have one that they would let me take a look at to see if it would really work for me.

While I'm here I will also ask if anyone know anything about the one currently for sale in Marathon, Florida?

https://fyiyachts.com/yachts/1988-eagle-32-33-transpac-trawler/

Thanks.

While I'm here I will also ask if anyone know anything about the one currently for sale in Marathon, Florida? [by FYI Yachts]

I don't know about the Eagle, but when I contacted FYI about a different 30-ish foot boat (I called twice and e-mailed once), all I got was SPAM about megayachts they had listed. Never a peep of info about the boat they (supposedly?) had for sale and that I was (repeatedly) inquiring about.

Thank you Frosty.

It has been for sale for quite awhile, and at a reasonable price. There must be some reason that it hasn't sold before this.

Like Frosty I tried to get info from that company. They were not helpful at all and didn't even seem to know about their own advertised boat.
