Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose: Thick, tarry molasses notes on the nose. This also offers up cinnamon and dates.
Palate: Coffee beans, spice and dark treacle. A rich, thick, slightly spirity palate.
Finish: Develops on oak and fragrant woods.
I only drink rum made on islands I've been to. Not that it is better, just better memories!
So far: Puerto Rico, Bahamas, St. Croix, St. Thomas, BVI, and Barbados. Mmmmm...
I don't know if Hawaii makes rum or even grows much cane anymore.
Cruzan was <$1 in the grocery store on St. Croix when I was a kid - my first taste! When we are in the Islands the bars seem to use Myers for all their cocktails. I bought two bottles and brought one and two thirds home with us to give away. Maybe I'm a bit heavy handed with my pour but it tastes like medicine - Calamine Lotion to be exact!

What's your favorite from BVI?
Fell in love with Sebastian's on Tortola when we used to fly there all the time.
A couple of years back, cruised the north coast of the Dominican Republic and discovered a rum entitled/labelled "Q". Loved it and drank a fair amount of it but have not been able to find it at home or anywhere else I have been. Anyone know it?
Rum and Coke is a beginner's drink. I've graduated to gin with tonic water, Martinis, or rarely an old fashioned.
It`s on the boat, which is at Cottage Point for some work. So is Doriana, met the new owner recently, they`re getting her looking nice.Need a picture Bruce.

23 year old Ron Zapaca. Like drinking iced tea.
My wife calls it panty remover.
