Hopefully, it's OK to post this here as I'm not a broker, insurance salesman or a crook.* I do want to put out word of our upcoming positioning cruise departing Ketchikan Alaska on April 7th.* Arctic Traveller Trawler Training is offering a huge 40% discount off our regular season rates on this pre-season trip.* You still get plenty of hands on time at the wheel of our 49ft trawler, extensive training, a comprehensive training manual to take home, great meals, spectacular scenery, empty wilderness anchorages, and endless wildlife spotting and photography opportunities. Included in your registration package is a questionnaire that allows us to custom design a training program based on your desires.*
We normally review a chapter or two in the training manual in the morning over coffee, then spend our day practicing those skills. We extensively cover things like navigation, proper radar use, electronic charting, man overboard, fire and abandon ship drills, engineering, damage control, communications, weather forecasting, anchoring techniques, passage planing and far more.
We try to be in our evening anchorage early enough to allow time for fishing, crabbing, rowing, beach combing, or simply relaxing.* Before dinner, we review the days skill session and then after dinner we are free to do as we wish.*
If you would like further information, feel free to contact us through our website at www.arctictraveller.com
