What to Do When It Snows in the PNW!

Ahhh, PBRs. So much better than Budwater.

We don't get snow very often on the Lower Columbia River.

What is a PNW'er to do?

Obviously, boating doesn't happen.

We had one year in Portland Oregon where the marina froze over. I was able to walk beside our boat, holding onto the lifeline very carefully. That same year, the wind sprayed water on the boats bows which caused some to sink nose down.

Keeping cockpit scupper drains clear of ice is a big deal, lest you have standing water where you don't want it. Also, ice can dam-up and create standing water over fuel fills on some boats.
