WELCOME! Great to have folks from around the world. Perhaps you could make a separate post about your ventures, boating in Hong Kong, etc.

I've been there many times, and really like it there, even though a bit crowded. Would wander over to Stanley Beach and rent a windsurfer at times. Also, don't care for the drama stuff that make me think or tries to make a point. I just want to be simply entertained, unwind prior to sleep and stuff like Cheers or Boston Legal are great. Only requires watching and laughing.

Also, very impressed with the number of boats between the island and the main city.... all kinds.

As for "regular" TV, I could do without..... but watching Netflex and some movies/TV series I've got fills the bill.

Anything but Call the Midwife! That’s TV repellent for me. My wife watches every episode. I would rather re-read a good book with earphones in listening to talk radio or yes, cruising TF.

Welcome aboard! HK was a popular stopover, even a destination, especially for shopping. But for Aussies, it`s not safe any more, too much risk of being detained for no reason, I would not go there, even to transit.Tough on Cathay Pacific. We`re expecting a lot of HK people coming here, other countries too I imagine.

Seahawks game now, Tottenham Spurs Saturday morning.

Wifey B: Basketball basketball football basketball basketball.

Ok, now that's out of the way, I'll go with holiday shows and Hallmark would then be 2nd in the line. 1st would be any shows of Holiday music I could find. I love singing and listening to Holiday songs and think this year even more than normal as they're uplifting and celebratory and we can use some of that. We even sang some tonight. :)

Oh, and Charlie Brown. Can't ever forget his show. :)

Here are a few of the musical specials. Might not all be performers you love but you might be surprised when they do holiday music, perhaps just their normal style of music that's not for you.

Dolly Parton with a Holly Dolly Christmas.
Dolly Parton's Christmas on the Square
My Gift, a Christmas Special from Carrie Underwood.
Mariah Carey's Magical Christmas Special
Christmas Spectacular Starring the Radio City Rockettes
Christmas in Rockefeller Center
Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration
The Disney Holiday Singalong
CMA Country Christmas
Amazon Music Holiday Plays-Miley Cyrus, Kiana Lede, Foo Fighters

And not to watch but to give you some thought. There's a Brazilian movie, Just Another Christmas, that's basically Groundhog Day but on Christmas Eve, it follows a man who, after taking a tumble, wakes up one year later on Christmas Eve with no memory of the past year, and keeps waking up that same o, holy night until he forces himself to face his mistakes.

This is a Holiday Season like none every in our lives. In many ways it's the saddest for many. There are more of us suffering, not those of us on TF, but the general population. More dying each day. It's not like other Christmas's or Hannukah's or anything's. We can't and shouldn't treat it the same. It's like Groundhog Day perhaps, but our chance to do it better. Our chance to sacrifice some of our joy for others who need some help. Whether it's a phone or video call to someone suffering from loneliness, checking in on someone who is depressed, or getting some groceries to a family in need or some winter clothing to a suffering family. Whatever it is, this Holiday needs those of us who can to do just a little more regardless of how much we normally do. It also needs us to look out for our family and friends and fellow humans by masking up and distancing. But do cam visits on your phone or computer. Take some smiles to those you can't visit in person. Don't forget or ignore those you can't visit in person. If there's a specific restaurant you often visit with friends then have all of you delivered food from there on the same evening and get on cam and eat together but safely. Yes, it's a year where things are more difficult and that just makes them more important. Think of things you feel you must do if this is your last chance. Think of the children who have been through a year unlike any you ever faced. Their education set back, their socialization set back, their mental health set back. Get some music and laughter to them but also if their family is suffering some tangible gifts to ease the load. Think of doctors and nurses who are suffering through a hell the rest of us can't even imagine this year and are the only persons to be there with so many dying loved ones but separated from their own loved ones much of the time. What if each of us just made a list of ten people beyond our normal list, ten people to think of and make sure they know we're thinking of them, ten people to help with their current struggles. Imagine. In fact, might be good to listen to John Lennon's "Imagine." Imagine in this world and country filled with so much ugliness right now if each of us just reached out to ten others, if each of us just let ten others know we cared. I'm not religious but I sure believe in the Christmas Spirit. To me that's the beauty of this holiday is people thinking of others, family, loving, music, laughter. That's all going to be terribly difficult for many this year so if each of us can reach out and touch just a few. Please. :)

I know I got off track, but blame it on the Brazilian movie. We each have a chance to make this year different and after these thoughts I fully intend to. I know it seems like I'm preaching but I'm preaching to myself first and foremost. :ermm:

You are preaching escapism, and if some TV, some sport, and other pursuits keep you and others from the awful things happening around you, it`s no bad thing.
Last night I was offerred "Climate Change", or "Climate Change" on channels I like. So I liked another one. I can`t get our TV on the boat to work, and if it did, the Bays we moor/anchor in are almost fjord like with steep enveloping sides, reception is near non existent, unless we go satellite. I don`t miss it, I rather watch the fish jumping, or fighting over scraps trimmed from steak, or shrimp heads, or whatever. Or just sitting, a good wine to hand, looking out of the cockpit, on a clear summer night, moon reflecting on the glassy water. Bliss.

Wifey B: One more idea. You Tube. Listen to and watch all your favorite holiday music. :)

We sang tonight with the entire group joining in. Discovered a couple of new very good singing voices. :D
