Are you using Bromine or anything in your AC seawater strainer to help stop growth ?

I keep a small pipe of copper tubing in there. Given that my current boat lives in a lift, putting anything in the strainer basket is questionable, but I did it on both my AC strainer baskets on my GB42 which unfortunately did not live in a lift.

New to larger wet slip boats. We are in FL and have owned the boat since December 2023. Have been using the 1" bromine tablets. I fill the strainer baskets every time I clean them out. It is my understanding chlorine is much more corrosive to the hoses and plastics etc. Only had to clean them about every 6 weeks until the water got warm and since then I clean them every 2 weeks. Any longer than 2 weeks and they are full of algae etc. If I don't use the bromine they get barnacles all over the place but as far as algae growth I don't really notice a difference with or without.
