Windlass make/model?

As stated in the title, I'm trying to ID the Windlass on our latest insanity. We bought a Mainship 34 that has the windlass in the pics mounted on the bow. None of the writing on the old tag/sticker is still legible, but there is a logo on the right side that I'm not familiar with. The gypsy is for 1/4" chain (not sure what type, and it is power up and power down, but the motor was apparently bad, removed, then put in box in lazarette that filled up with water . . . . with predictable results. I'm looking to replace the motor, but need more info to go on. Anyone got any ideas?

Barring getting a motor for this windlass, I'm in the market for a good used electric windlass, 1/4" chain. I can change chain type easily because the boat only came with 20' of chain . . . . . Seriously?!?

Edit: I think it is a Simpson Lawrence, Horizon series, either a 400 or 500, but need a source for the motor . . .

I did a search simpson lawrence horizon 300 windlass and there are plenty of motors listed on Ebay which claim to fit 400/500 model, none seen for 300. The pictures look the same as what you have.

Thanks for all your help! I'm 99% sure it is a Simpson Lawrence 500, with the SS gypsy. I've found several sources for a motor. Now I need to disassemble the gearbox and make sure it's worth rebuilding. Thanks again all!

Nick, I appreciate it, but the one we need has 12 splines on a short, 1/2" shaft. I appreciate the thought though!

Just wondering, if you have not named it yet, are you open to suggestions? Was there a subliminal message in your original post?

To me, there is some virtuous appeal to the name Our Latest Insanity.

No subliminal message, or question. The name the boat came with is Dream Weaver. Hardly an original name, but interesting. The boat is not Federally documented, only state titled and registered, so a name change, if we chose to do so would be simplicity itself. We've not even gotten to that stage as of yet!
We're still in the "Will the engine start" and "how can we get the anchor up" stage right now . . .

You should be able take that gear off the existing motor and install it on the new motor. Go to an alternator shop for advice. They may be able to reman the one you have.

Only electrical shop I could find said $175.00 minimum and they wouldn't guarantee it would work . . . The OP had it in a plastic tub in the lazarette, and it had about 6" of water in it. . . . Been that way for a couple of years . . . . A new motor is $239 from Simpson Lawrence, so it doesn't make any sense to try and the old, rusted mess rebuilt.
