Our Wittholz design was given a chapter in Beebe's "Voyaging Under Power". We have the original architectural plans and correspondence with Charles Wittholz. The boat was built in Corten steel and cold molded epoxies in 1978 and a major refurb was carried out in 1992 after Hurricane Andrew.
(Our article on the storm originally printed in Coastal Cruising was recently revisited by Passagemaker Magazine: https://www.passagemaker.com/trawler-news/surviving-hurricane-andrew )
...
As we get older, we are starting to consider letting go of this very special boat. Have been living aboard and cruising extensively in her for over 30 years!
She looked after us / we looked after her.
She is a REAL cruising boat; please do not expect a carved teak interior and you will not need boat-shoes to step aboard.
Everything is designed after our extensive Caribbean cruising experience to work in the real world and without over-complication. Even the gray hull color is to blend in better where the real watermen moor and fuel their boats.
...
Ultra-sounding the hull structure will find conditions "as new" and the wood-epoxy superstructure does not have the usual issues often found in a house built with polyester resins. (I recently retired from making my living as a marine surveyor since 1988 - MSOL Marine Surveyors .)
...
We are asking $65.000 CAD and should be ready to sell later this summer.
The boat has been in freshwater since 2000, on Lake Ontario and the Trent Severn Waterway - go to this link for more:
