I have an Albin 25 I am refurbishing that the PO bought a used Yanmar 2qm20 and installed in it.
Diesel starts and runs like a champ but the transmission needs something.
First, it has the original bell shaped transmission with a big shift lever on the Port side not the Kansaki transmission. What type of transmission is this called?
Second, When I put it in fwd and then pull it back to neutral it stops at about the neutral position and then stops. I have to push it back forward just a bit and then it clicks and comes out of gear.
I am not familiar with transmission rebuilding and I am looking for a course of action. Is this a simple adjustment issue that a mechanic can correct, or do I need to have the tranny rebuilt or replaced?
Thank you
