Vessel Name
Rumpus van puffy bun
Vessel Make
Vashon 23
I recently purchased our Vashon pocket the “rumpus van puffy bun” or rumpus on the radio and was wondering how many people actively trailer their Vashons? When I purchased it came with lead cast to sit in the stringers and was told by the previous owners incredibly nice widow that he used to take them in and out to trailer the vessel. I test ran the tiny yanmar and then filled it with antifreeze via half of outboard ear muffs and bump started until coolant came out the drain hole on the muffler and put the cap back on. So I guess I have two questions how do people handle the heat exchanger pulling boat in and out during the winter and if any one has heard of the lead ballast in them thanks I’m a new guy on here.

I've been away from the forum for a while but welcome to the Vashon owner's club! My Vashon is in a slip all year. She is due for a haul out after the summer for a bottom job and new Awlgrip on her hull. Search the forums and you will see a post about the ballast from another Vashon owner. They used steel punches coated in oil. I haven't had problems but the other owner had to remove the ballast because of rust and swelling. I recall that he weighed the ballast and used a substitute--lead?
