Good Morning....I need to re-caulk the seam on the outside of my 36' Albin ET where the flybridge meets the house under the stainless trim.

May I get a suggestion on the best sealant to use?

Thanks!

Guy

I use Loctite polyurethane from Home Depot for stuff like that. I am convinced it is just as good as the marine stuff that is 2-3x the price. I use Butyl tape for bedding hardware.

3M 4200 would be perfect for that task.

Watch out for the 3m 4200 /5200products for caulking. They are not uv stable. Not good for an exposed caulking application Of course you know why I know this.

I also have had 4200 turn yellow. That is why I went to Sika 291.

Thanks for the replies.....bought some 291 and will be taking care of the issue next week

Ditto. I usually use UV4000 now. The right amount of adhesion and doesn’t yellow.
