Freakishly warm here all winter so far. If I had a trailerable Ranger Tug, we could go boating right now. Don't even have any ice on the upper Missouri. AKProf knows, solstices were a big deal on the Last Frontier, but here they go by almost completely unnoticed.

So true. At UAF we'd all go up to the top of the hill around the GeoPhys Building (a/k/a the GeeWhiz Institute) at midnight on June 21 and watch the sun make a big circle in the sky. Touches the horizon, then goes back up. If that doesn't make you feel like you're living on a planet in a solar system, I don't know what would.
