I have to change out the pump on my Simrad 3000x autopilot. Is this a straightforward swap out should I be concerned with anything? Any tips or suggestions are much appreciated.

Can somebody identify this oil changing system that I have on my boat. I thought it might be a reverso but I am not sure.

So somebody nearby has some 100 amp hour AGM batteries for sale. These are labeled BMW I assume there for the car. They are listed as new and were manufactured in July 2020. The unbelievable price for these are only $80. Do you guys think it’s worth the risk to buy these to make a battery bank?

So my very old Lowrance 3400 depth finder does not work. One of my winter project was to find out where the transducer is and hopefully install a new depth finder. My primary depth finder is in my Garmin chart plotter. Is it possible that I am sharing the transducer with the Garmin transducer...

We only discovered the battery issue at the end of working on it. Next weekend we will be at it again. I bought the unit used paid $300.

My buddy who is a licensed electrician helped me with the install. I guess I could benefit from having a marine electrician but that’s not in the budget.

I replaced my inverter today with a xantrex 458. For some reason I could not get the unit to invert. After much head scratching etc found out both of my house batteries were completely dead. I am not sure for how long they were dead, I assumed they were working as my 12v system was...

I retired at 55 in Feb 2020. Have a good pension an a modest 403B. Only issue is that my wife is still working so I can't really do anything travel wise with the boat. She bas 3 more years left until she is able to retire.

Bottom is clean. Going to add a second in dash depth finder. Was hoping to reuse the current (broken) lowrance 34OO transponder, is that possible? I need find the transponder location. Boat is coming out and will be stored on the hard next week.

I currently have a Garmin 5212 Chartplotter, Sonar & Radar Combo unit. The Dept finder on occasion flashes a given depth from time to time. Tried resetting etc. Always seems to happen at the worst times. Anyway the boat came with an additional Lowrance 3400 which powers up but does not work...

So I supplied 12v power to Control Head and the display powered up. Gray and pink wires coming from the j3000x junction have no power. I do have power at the junction box and a good fuse it has to be something within that junction box.

I dont know if it would be compatible with mine unit. Let me do some research.
