Because of my proximity to B.C. Canada, I have been looking on Yachtworld and Craigslist at boats. Which got me thinking, would I have to pay an import tax, if I bring a boat back to the states? Are there any other taxes one should be aware of, if buying in Canada?

The ultimate plan for this boats it to do the inside passage, up into SE Alaska. With the remotness of that area, the would feel more at ease with 2 screws.

I think at this point, its not so much a loan problem. More of a inventory problem. But this lack of inventory is forcing me to look at boats, I don't think I would otherwise. Now if I could just get the wife to look at single screw boats, that would open up some more options.
