I change the oil in my pump every 50 hours. The old oil is thinner and I am guessing some fuel is getting by the seals in the pump?

I also have a duel set with vacuum gauge. I use a 2 micron on primary side and 10 micron on backup. FL 120 2714

Skinny, I am waiting for the oil analysis and the expert mechanic before moving forward. I just don't have the knowledge to distinguish a fuel knock from a piston slap. I'm leaning towards the slap because of the smaller piston and the knock fades as the engine comes up to temp? Mike

Marin I have had the valve cover off while engine was running and I think the knocking sound that fades away when engine gets up to temp is piston slap. I like to fix things myself but at some point I will pay an expert once I give up.
