Fiberglass hull paint prep - simulated plank joint grooves

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07S2T2Z4W?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_dt_b_product_details Not too bad a job. This is what I used on my Albin. Worked well with 120 and then 220 grit. Have fun!

Fastening the toe rail to the hull Albin 40

Great ideas! Thanks all, I'll talk it over with the marina. Spacer blocks seem like the way to go. They may have some flotation foam left over fron their dock rebuild.

Fastening the toe rail to the hull Albin 40

Thank you both. My thoughts on the spacers, I'll talk to them. Are the screws into wood or other some other backing material? Do you think 5200 under the toe rail would help or maybe just new/oversize screws?

Fastening the toe rail to the hull Albin 40

Does anyone know how the toe rail is typically fastened to the hull of this type of Taiwan trawler? My yard owner just informed me, 3 weeks before haulout for the season, that my portside toe rail (and I'm assuming stanchions and railing) lifted up while the boat was in the travel lift slings...

    Crack in er hatch beam

It should but it leaves something sticking out on the bottom. And I'd probably scratch my head or snag on it going down below.

    Crack in er hatch beam

Unless you are on a lake, use stainless. And don't overthink this. There's a big dent in the wood above the crack. Something whacked it and split the wood. Either replace it or glue, epoxy/ bolt it together and forget about it. BTW, you're engine and room are crazy clean and shiny!

    Liquid for deck repair

https://epoxyproducts.com/ This man has very good products and a crazy website. I've used the low-v and it should do the trick. Of course shipping/import is the wild card.

    Possible?

Get rid of the lead batteries, one and done. More money up front, but you can fill them faster and get twice as much capacity. If your current batteries were LiFePO4 you wouldn't be looking for more capacity right now.

    Replacing teak deck

Any suggestions on core materials? Does the top skin usually peel away or does it break? Guess I'll find out.

    Replacing teak deck

My decks leak on our 40 Albin. What else is new. I removed all the screws and filled the hole with epoxy and bungs. It slowed things down but still we get water in the aft cabin, which is the low spot. So I'm going to remove the teak and fiberglass the deck. I'm looking for feedback on restoring...

One Inch Crankshaft Bolt, Ford Lehman 120

To get mine off I used a breaker bar with a pipe and a large wood block. Touched the starter and the bolt freed up without putting a hole in the bottom of my boat. Make sure you get the engine rotation right before trying this.

    Lehman SP135 eng heat sensor

Port side (yellow wire) goes to the temperature gauge, the starboard/more center one (red/white wire) is the over temperature switch for the alarm. Ignore the one with no wires. This is the replacement for the port sensor. VDO 323 479 Temperature Sender...

    15a circuit breaker

https://www.westmarine.com/blue-sea-systems-c-series-flat-rocker-circuit-breakers-single-pole-P016931966.html Possible candidate. Have to get the old one out and check dimensions.

    15a circuit breaker

That continuous bar on mine is the hot side. I put a jumper wire from the switched side of another little used breaker to the switched side of the "bad" breaker as a temporary work around. I do have to take that bus bar off of all the breakers on that side of the panel to remove the breaker, but...

    Westerbeke diesel gen Obi-wan

https://www.westerbeke.com/parts%20manual/32139_rev4_13-33_parts_list.pdf The parts manual shows the pump appears to be driven from a cam? Did you remove the injector pump and check the condition of the cam or if the pump can be operated? Maybe it's frozen?

    Stuck screw

I've had luck using CRC Freeze Off after trying heat. I tried to spray the bolt to make it shrink a bit. Worked when heat and penetrating oils didn't. Took almost the whole can but it was worth it.

    Ford Lehman Biodiesel

"I also don’t see the point in it. The math says recreational trawlers are just not meaningful contributors to climate change." If you are burning it you are producing CO2. Then add in the energy to plant, harvest, and process biofuels. Boating under power requires energy. If someone is...
