Hi , back again with the need for advice on anchoring. I just bought 210 ft more of acco 5/16 G43 chain and I'm using a mantus swivel. I still have 100 ft of 5/16 G43, but do I go for having Washington chain weld a link or go with 5/8 3 strand. If they guarantee the weld and it fails they will probably give me my 100 bucks back !! I'm leaning towards the weld. What say ye? Cheers J.t.

Wonder how something like this would work.
I have one in my chain. I added 40 mtrs of 13 mm chain to the chain I had already onboard. It works fine, but you have to make sure that you hammer those pins flat. If you don't do that this connector won't hold. But when you install it correctly this link is just as strong as the rest of the chain, no need to worry. I have used it now for 2 years and have not seen any problems (coming loose or corroding).

Is there a special die provided, or which you buy, to hammer the pins?
I did not get any special tools, I just got the link and then had to hammer it down. So I used a drift to flatten the heads of these pins.
